A chance encounter between a Terran deep-space cruiser and a warship of the reptilian Hurron Empire leads to a decade-long interstellar war that results in the near extinction of the human race. A handful of human survivors encounter a mysterious alien AI, who assists them to even the score, to rebuild their shattered civilization, and to reconnect with their galactic soul purpose. Subsequent events lead to the formation of an ever-expanding alliance of alien races, which need to set aside their differences to avoid a looming crisis that threatens to wipe all life from the face of the Milky Way galaxy.
